The Perfect Moonshine Recipe For Any Occasion

Posted by , on Dec, 2016

Whether you want to feel like the Dukes of Hazard, cooking up some delicious ‘shine or just want to experiment with different flavors and pairings, you can find legal options, as well as make your own mash or base (which is illegal). Therefore, you can enjoy the perfect moonshine recipe that fits almost any occasion imaginable.

“Clear” ‘Shine (Make At Your Own Risk)

With bootleg white lightning, you can be fined or face legal problems, though many people still prefer to make it themselves. If you do have such an inkling, you’ll start with the basic moonshine recipe below and can add almost any flavors to it.

You’ll need five gallons of sweet feed, a package of yeast (distiller’s yeast is best), five pounds of sugar, and water. You will also require a larger bucket (up to 10 gallons) to mix everything.

Put sweet feed into the 10-gallon bucket, at least four inches deep. Add all of the sugar and fill to about halfway with boiling water, mixing until the sugar dissolves. Add the rest of the sweet feed, fill the rest of the way with water, and once it has cooled enough, add the yeast.

Cover with a lid that has a screw-on cap leaving the cap off so it can breathe a little. Wait four to five days (unless you’re using turbo yeast) and run it through your still, following all directions.

Various Recipes

Once you’ve got your moonshine (you can also purchase it from liquor stores, making it legal), you can mix and match ingredients to get apple pie, caramel apple, pineapple, lemon, and more. For pineapple versions, you can use 56 ounces of canned pineapple juice, two cups of sugar and 3/4 liter of your ‘shine of choice. You’ll add everything but the alcohol to a crockpot or pot, heat it and dissolve the sugar, pour in the alcohol, and cool. Like us at Facebook
