A great way to make the most of your summer with your family is the simple but fun activity of water tubing. Water tubing is very simple, but very fun activity that gives you and your family the experience of high speed boating, even when none of you are professionally trained for boating. But how to choose the best boat towable tube for the job? It’s actually an equally simple task as well, as shall now be demonstrated.
#1. Pick one with enough room
The obvious one goes first. Of course, you don’t want to leave anyone out of the fun. There are towable tubes with enough room for any family. Also, be sure to always stay within the set amount of people stated by the manufacturer. Otherwise the extra person riding won’t have as much room to grab onto the railings, and risk being thrown off.
#2. Find a type that works for you
There are several different types of towable tubes on the market for you to choose from. From open top tubes, to ride-in and cockpit style, to deck tubes, to even duel tow point tubes. All of these types offer a different experience from the others. Whether it be more freedom, less freedom but less chance of falling, more maneuverability etc., there’s one for the cautious or the daredevil in all of us. The tow ropes are the only things between you and the tube flying off with you hanging on for dear life. Learn extensively about how to properly attach the rope, or find someone who already knows. Look into the tensile strength of the rope you’re using, and then weigh it against the weight that you and your family are going to be putting on it. This is easily the safest thing you can do.
