Tips for Getting the Best in Professional Photography for Your Wedding

Posted by , on Jun, 2018

About to tie the knot? It will be an amazing day that will live forever in your memory. Of course, you probably want something a bit more concrete than your memories, which can get fuzzy over time. Wedding photography allows you to immortalize your big day forever, but there are a few things that you’ll need to know about professional photography for weddings in NJ.

Their Primary Style

Most photographers have a preferred style of shooting. It is their “default” mode so to speak, and the style that they use most frequently. It may or may not be a match for your personal preferences, so it’s important to ask about their primary style before you choose a photographer. Don’t settle for a verbal description of that style, either. Get photographic evidence. The photographer should be more than happy to show you examples of past wedding photos that highlight their style well.

How Much Time Is Available

Some professional photography providers are in very high demand, and if they are the only person on the team, it can mean that their availability is limited. Find out in the beginning how long they will be able to stay at your wedding. Will they only photograph the ceremony itself? Will they stay for the reception as well? Will they arrive early so you can take important photos before the ceremony, or will they need to arrange for this to happen after the reception? Will the photography session be broken down into multiple days? These are all vital questions to answer as they will affect your wedding plan.

Color Correction

Color correction is an important consideration. Some wedding photographers will only color correct the “best” photos from the wedding. However, others will color correct all of them, which is the better option, as it ensures you have the right colors in all the photos, whether they’re going to make it into the wedding album or not. Note that color correction is not always offered, either. Some photographers don’t do any type of post-production and will just give you the images raw, right from the camera.
